The do-gooders should leave our festivals alone! Ok Christmas is not sustainable because of all the electricity that is used in this particular time of the year, people tend to have their heating on constantly, because it is cold, however Christmas is about all the bright lights in widows, on doors and Christmas on trees. Without this it wouldn’t feel Christmassy

Christmas lights gets you in the mood of Christmas, it brightens the winter up, Christmas lights puts a smile on children’s faces, ( some adults too) some displays are absolutely beautiful and it’s a shame you only get to see them once a year.
I suppose this is a contribution to being sustainable by taking your Christmas lights down, not having them up all year round. Christmas is only once every year so some may argue that it is sustainable, because it is not a daily thing.

Christmas is a time to relax with family and friends, over eat and spend money on those whom they care about, or give to those who do not have. Christmas is important to families who see it as a very important cultural period.

The way I see it is the Medias job to put headlines that get the publics attention to inform them with shocking headlines.EVERYONE knows that climate change is BIG issue! The point is do people care?

I think people are aware of climate change and don’t care. They don’t contribute to making it a better sustainable planet. If people had to choose between a sustainable program or the X-factor finals they will more than lightly choose X factor..

The media has a job to do they need to make money and have targets and figures to reach , which involves how many papers they sold or what T.V has the most views.
This will not happen if it’s on sustainable development because its not catching the viewers eyes.

I don’t think the media are doing enough to promote sustainable development but they can not risk writing headlines and putting shows ahead because they may in deed loose out on a lot of money.

Time is money and the media can’t waste time on wondering to write about sustainable development and if it’s going to be a big seller of the month. It is not time consuming and it is not money wise, which is pretty sad.. Watching X-factor doesn’t make the world a better place or improve your life the slightest bit

As a citizen I feel that I should be informed with anything that maybe happening in the world, it is My Duty as a citizen to make sure I inform myself with serious issues.
I also have the responsibility to make sure I have access to any kind of material for me to be informed with any particular serious issues at any moment and time.

The way I inform myself with serious issues is on my DAB (Nationwide Radio).Or if I feel like watching a bit of worldwide news that maybe currently happening, then I watch channel 4 news.
Complicated decisions I feel should be left up to others. (Who ever they maybe)....

I think the people who reveal complicated issues feel it is their Duty to inform the rest of the world that there are complications arising , once the information has been passed on to us..
(As citizens) then it is our choice to do something about the particular situation to make a difference.

Example: - You can bring a horse to the water but, you can’t make it drink from it.

To what extent do you think this was deserved? Having watched this film in class did you feel that your opinion (or perhaps the opinion of others) to

I think this video was deserved, and has not been credited for alerting those who have watched the film, and are making small changes to their own lives to contribute living a sustainable lifestyle. From a personal opinion I feel I have been influenced by this film reason being because it was interesting, humorous at times, had a story line to the mini film. It also had different images for those who will understand it in a better way; I think the film was very affective even if the facts weren’t quiet right.

The narrator still got a clear message across in more than one way , he used cartoons, graphs, mini videos, person family photos, experiences etc, He was even practical in the film himself .(Demonstrating how much global warming has gone up over the years on the machine)

Watching the film and reading back to my previous blog prompt number 1, I feel as if I should contribute and make a little bit more of an effort to the planet. so yeah the film has influenced me whether I make the changes or not ill have to see. Maybe the next blog prompt will be the final straw for me to take action on living a sustainable lifestyle… Hummm interesting.

I am not a sustainable person, a sustainable person commits to making the world a better place for the future of their relatives in years to come, or maybe for other personal reasons E.g. An individual may have got food poisoning because there were too many preservatives and additives in a tomato they may have had, this individual would then argue for more natural organic products, personally I would agree with this because everybody wants to be healthy but natural organic food doesn’t have any taste. It’s so bland and not really enjoyable. So I would much rather a fatty beef burger that has preservatives and additives init.

I do use public transport although it seems to let me down most the time so I would say that is sustainable so I guess I am helping the world in some sort of way only because I don’t have a licence to dive, I would consider getting a bike. But then again that would be for my own personal reason to get fit and tone my legs up rather than “make the planet more sustainable “
I think in this time and age it could be too late to make any source of change to the world, however I believe children do as they see, I think to be a more sustainable person in society you should be thought from young so it comes natural to your lifestyle. I on the other hand have a particular lifestyle where my mind is totally not interested in being a sustainable person. Because its not when IV known and it’s not what I do. That’s what is preventing me from improving a sustainability of life style.

When writing this piece of information I have surprisingly learnt something about myself. I am quiet a selfish person when it comes to others, it has made me reflect on my actions and think well… should I start recycling? Should I get a compos bin? Should I help this planet save money? nope, it is time wasting and besides, I wouldn’t live to see the difference.

Blogprompt Number One

What actions could you (in theory) undertake that would improve the 'sustainability' of your lifestyle? What might be preventing you from doing these?
